Valve tags

Engraved valve tags are used to identify valves in plumbing, process plants, industry, buildings and other technical installations.

A clearly marked valve lets operations and service staff identify the right valve quickly, without tracing the whole pipe system or checking drawings. That matters especially during service, troubleshooting, isolation and maintenance.

The tags are made from two- or three-layer engraving plastic. The text is engraved through the top colour layer so the contrasting colour beneath becomes visible. The marking is therefore clear and permanent.

Tags can be marked with valve numbers, system codes, media, object numbers, function or other information used in the plant documentation.

We can make the tags in different sizes, shapes and colour combinations, and with a hole for hanging. They can be mounted with chain, wire, cable ties or other hanging suited to the installation.

What a valve tag is

A valve tag is a round or oval engraved tag that hangs at the valve. The text is engraved through the surface so the contrasting colour underneath shows.

Where it is used

It hangs at valves and taps in plumbing, process plants and buildings, on a chain, wire or cable tie. An emergency-stop sign is a different product.

How to order

Enter the valve number, media or function in the sign editor, or import a list.

Questions

What is engraved on a valve tag?

Valve number, system code, media or function. Whatever the plant documentation uses.

How is the tag hung?

From the hole, with a chain, wire or cable tie. The stock tag is Ø 40 mm in white/black/white with a Ø 5 mm hole.

Is a valve tag the same as an emergency-stop sign?

No. The valve tag hangs at the valve. An emergency stop is a yellow sign with black text around the button.

Can I order many tags with different text?

Yes. An Excel list makes one tag per row, each with its own text.
